Exciting News: We’re Officially 5!

This summer marked a very special milestone for us here at Kembla, we officially turned five years old! On a sunny day in the Midlands, our team gathered to celebrate not just a birthday, but half a decade of growth, innovation, and success.

Reflecting on the journey, our Managing Director, Declan Adams, shared what this anniversary means to everyone at Kembla:

“The past five years have been an absolute whirlwind. I moved back from Australia during COVID and started Kembla out of my in-laws’ spare bedroom. At that time, I couldn’t have imagined that today we would be delivering multiple 100kWp projects across the country.

I’d like to acknowledge and say a huge thank you to our suppliers, customers, subcontractors and most importantly, our incredible team, who continue to raise the bar every single week. Here’s to the next five years!”

 

Five Years, Countless Projects

From that very first desk in a spare bedroom to now operating from two key offices, the Midlands and the South, the journey has been remarkable. These strategic locations have enabled us to expand nationwide, delivering some truly phenomenal solar installations for both residential and commercial clients.

Here are just a few highlights from recent years:

Ashby-de-la-Zouch

This standout residential project was completed at a stunning home, where smart energy seamlessly met thoughtful design. With solar panels installed across five different roof areas, this bespoke system was carefully built to maximise generation while blending beautifully with the character of the property.

System details:

• 20 x Jinko Tiger Neo 440W Black N-Type Panels
• 1 x SolarEdge 6kW Home Hub Inverter
• 2 x SolarEdge 10kWh Batteries
• Fastensol Mounting Equipment
• Solar Skirt Board Protection

As part of the installation, the customer now enjoys full visibility and control through the SolarEdge app, allowing them to monitor system performance in real-time. This is a great example of how solar can be both efficient and user-friendly.

Hammersmith Academy

Another project we are especially proud of is our work with Hammersmith Academy, an award-winning sustainable London school. The Academy approached us with ambitious goals to reduce their environmental impact and inspire students with a working example of renewable energy in action.

We installed a 202kWp solar PV system across their rooftop, totalling 422 panels. Today, the system generates around 20% of the school’s energy needs, saving approximately 32 tonnes of CO₂ every year.

• 405 x Longi 450W Solar Panels
• 5 x SolarEdge 33,000W Three Phase Inverters
• 1 x SolarEdge Wattnode Modbus Meter for monitoring import/export
• 204 x SolarEdge S1000 Optimisers
• 1 x Firefighter Gateway for safety and compliance

This installation not only reduces the school’s energy costs but also provides a tangible example of sustainability for future generations.

Looking Ahead

The past five years have been about laying strong foundations, but the future is looking even brighter. The UK government recently announced its Clean Power 2030 Action Plan, committing to significant investment in grid enhancements and planning reforms. This means solar capacity is set to scale rapidly across the nation.
